Feature and Follow 5-24-12

This week's question:

What would your dream cast be for your current book?

I am currently reading Deadlocked by Charlaine Harris and City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare.  Since all of the Sookie Stackhouse characters are permanently set in my head now as the cast of True Blood, I will work on City of Lost Souls.  This book is part of the Mortal Instruments series.  While I usually read mostly adult books, this is a YA series so my cast will be a little younger than usual :) 



Jace:  Alex Pettyfer








Clary:  Emma Stone







Simon:  Xavier Samuel
(not exactly, but as close as I could find)








The rest of the side characters I don't have an exact image of what I think they should look like except Magnus Bane and I can't find anyone who looks anything like how I think he should look.

    This one was way too hard for me! I couldn't think. But I love your answers. I was all excited when I heard Alex might play Jace, I am not a fan of the guy they picked for him. And I love Emma Stone!

      Alex Pettyfer is who I've always pictured as Jace. I had to think about the others.

    Yes! I would LOVE if Alex Pettyfer were Jace! But they cast Jamie Campbell Bower instead. :(

    Congrats on the feature! I still haven't started Mortal Instruments (I even went to the bookstore yesterday to buy them and they didn't have the first 2! What good is that?) but I suspect Alex Pettyfer will be creeping up a lot today. I had to fight to keep him out of mine :-)

    The Mortal Instruments is way easy for me b/c there are so many dream casts out there for them! Too bad Alex didn't actually get cast for Jace! He was PERFECT!! ;))

    I love Emma Stone! And I agree with you on Magnus, he definitely looks a certain way to me and I can't think of anyone who matches up right now either.

    Congrats on being a feature this week! I love your choices! I agree that any Sookie book would be hard to cast as anything other than what they are.

      The reviews on Deadlocked have not been good as a whole so I was a little hesitant to start it too. Plus, I hear there's not much Eric :(

    Congrats on getting featured! I am an old follower. I agree with you on Emma Stone as Clary, so perfect. I'm not sure about the two guys. I always imagined Jace with darker hair even though I think the book said he was blonde. I guess I just like darker haired guys. :->

    Good pick for Jace...I'm not sure Jamie Campbell Bower can capture Jace as well as I would have liked. But then again, he was darn good as Arthur in Camelot so who knows.

    I think Alex Pettifer is a great choice for Jace! He comes very close to how Jace is described in The Mortal Instruments :)

    I have a friend that I'd cast as Magnus. He's not an actor, but he just looks how I'd picture Magnus to look. Anyway, new follower! I agree that Alex Pettyfer should have been Jace.

    Congratulations on being featured this week! Alex Pettyfer was my top pick for Jace too. I don't like Jamie Campbell Bower for Jace at all. I hope the movie changes my mind. And, I think Emma Stone would be a great Clary. I'm hoping Lily Collins will do well, though.

    The Mortal Instruments series is one of my all time favorite books series, and your cast choices are great (although I think everyone sees Alex as Jace).
