Highlights from J.R. Ward's Q&A at Cincinnati signing today

Here are a few highlights from J.R. Ward's Q&A at today's Cincinnati signing.
Warning: There are a few spoilers if you haven't read "The King" yet.

The next book will be The Shadows and will be about Trez and iAm.
We have not met iAm's mate yet.
There will be a new series.  Not a spin-off of BDB.  She did not say what it would be.
iAm will have sex in the next book.
Still only anticipating one book per year even though Fallen Angels is ending.
We will see more of Murhder and Aggie.
Lucas will end up with someone, not Abalone's daughter.
She wants there to be more for Z than where he is now but she doesn't know what it could be yet.
JM will become a brother.
She doesn't see JM figuring out that he's Darius.
Ward has next 3 books planned.
Something dire has to happen to bring Scribe Virgin back, but she will be back.  Her role and world have changed for now.
Mary and Rhage are having a kid... probably.
The S'hile Queen is pregnant, by S'ex.
Selena has a disease of The Chosen, a genetic mutation from limited gene pool.
Lassiter will have his own book
Sola and Assail will get back together.
Assail's twin brothers will get mate's too.
The series is still open, no end in sight.
Best scene to come with Sola's grandmother will be her cooking with ghost peppers and the twins eating raw peppers... she'll know somethings not right.
Assail is selling drugs to the enemy which puts him in a difficult spot.
Lessers getting money banked up.
Manny will never be turned.
Butch and Jose will get closure... has to do with the lesser Xcor killed and left in alley which was then found by humans.
She has a feeling the BDB mansion could get raided.
Creator in the Fallen Angels series is the father of the Scribe Virgin and the Omega.
Payne can't fix Wrath's eyesight.
Still won't say what was in the lock box that was found when they rescued Lucas from the barrel.
Speculated if Wrath's blindness is due to inbreeding (small gene pool for glymera) or due to Anha's poisoning while pregnant.
Last scene of Immortal (Fallen Angels series) will show Lassiter's purpose.
Payne will still always be able to go up and recharge in sanctuary to keep Manny preserved.
Moors versus Shadows versus s'Hisbe are all the same, just different cultural names.
Something from Lover Reborn was single most important thing for Xcor.
Scene between Wrath and Thor that we don't see... she said was too personal to write, she didn't want to intrude.
Throe's sister is lynch pin about which two characters spin... they are linked to her.
Autumn (No 'One) is not Throe's sister.
Glymera not happy with their forced retirement.
Will see more of Rehv and Ehlena in the future.
Qhuinn and Blay will get their names on each other's backs.
No BDB movies in the works.
Xhex is one of her favorites.
Abalone's daughter will get a mate but doesn't know who yet.  She will be adopted by the BDB like a little sister.
Payne's ability is going away, possibly permanent.
Assail is a pure vampire.
As Xcor is softening, Throe is building up and it's making her nervous.
The Chosen are fluctuating between the sanctuary and the camp.
If Wrath died, Butch would be next in line according to old laws.
Lash will be back.  His girlfriend is Devina from Fallen Angels series!
We've already met Saxton's HEA and it's not iAm or Lassiter.

Favorite March Book Release

What was your favorite book release in March?

Mine would have to be the latest book in the "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series, Lover at Last by J.R. Ward.

I was anxiously awaiting reading Quinn and Blay's happily ever after, like I'm sure most of the Black Dagger Brotherhood fans were.  J.R. Ward certainly did not disappoint.  While the last two books didn't seem up to par with the rest of the series for me, this one hit the mark dead on.  Not only was the main story excellent but even the side stories, which have been notoriously not liked, I thoroughly enjoyed.  The first quarter of the book is a little slow as the multiple storylines get going but quickly picks up after that point.  I even enjoyed the Band of Brothers this time... Xcor is finally coming around ;)

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: it seems Qhuinn has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young. It’s hard for Blay to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. And Qhuinn needs to come to terms with some dark things before he can move forward…

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.

Back Cover Synopsis Reveal: "Lover at Last" by J.R. Ward

J.R. Ward released the back cover synopsis for "Lover at Last" this week.  I'm even more anxious for this book now!  It's scheduled to be released in March 2013.

Synopsis:
Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young- just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.

Cover Reveal: "Lover at Last" by J.R. Ward

The cover and title for the upcoming novel in The Black Dagger Brotherhood series was released today!  This will be the story, finally, of Quinn and Blaylock.  J.R. Ward has tortured us throughout the series with their tumultuous relationship, or lack thereof.  We got some hints at the end of the last novel as to some of what's in the works with Quinn but it should be interesting.  The hardcover version will be released in March 2013.  It's going to be a long wait for all of us BDB fans!

Cover Reveal: "Rapture" by J.R. Ward

Here's the new cover that was just released for Rapture by J.R. Ward (in hardcover).  This is the 4th book in her Fallen Angels series.  It is due to be released September 25th, 2012.  You can pre-order here.

Mels Carmichael, reporter for the Caldwell Courier Journal, gets the shock of her life when a man stumbles in front of her car outside the local cemetery. After the accident, his amnesia is just the kind of mystery she likes to solve, but she soon discovers they're over their heads with his past. Over their heads with passion, too ...As shadows walk the line between reality and another realm, and her lover's memory begins to come back, the two of them learn that nothing is truly dead and buried. Especially when you're trapped in a no-holds-barred war between angels and demons. With a soul on the line, and Mels' heart at risk, what in heaven - or in hell - will it take to save them both?
