Review: "Moonglow" by Kristen Callihan

"Moonglow,"  the second book in the Darkest London series, will be released July 31st, 2012.

Finally free of her suffocating marriage, widow Daisy Ellis Craigmore is ready to embrace the pleasures of life that have long been denied her. Yet her new-found freedom is short lived. A string of unexplained murders has brought danger to Daisy's door, forcing her to turn to the most unlikely of saviors . . .

Ian Ranulf, the Marquis of Northrup, has spent lifetimes hiding his primal nature from London society. But now a vicious killer threatens to expose his secrets. Ian must step out of the shadows and protect the beautiful, fearless Daisy, who awakens in him desires he thought long dead. As their quest to unmask the villain draws them closer together, Daisy has no choice but to reveal her own startling secret, and Ian must face the undeniable truth: Losing his heart to Daisy may be the only way to save his soul.

The Darkest London series' Victorian London setting is one of my favorites.  I love this era and can just picture all of the beautiful dresses and cozy little homes.   Throw in a hot werewolf and it makes for a good read!  I'm starting to really enjoy the historical paranormal romance novels in general and this certainly fits the bill.  While I didn't feel quite the same spark with Daisy and Ian that I did in the last novel, with Archer and Miranda, I still enjoyed it.   Kristen Callihan is certainly building on all of the supernatural beings in this book.  We get introduced to much more than just the lycans.

Fans of the first novel, "Firelight,"  will definitely enjoy this one as well.  Haven't started the series yet?  Check out my review of the first novel here.

The next book "Winterblaze" is expected to be released February 26th, 2012.
